Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall Arrive Stateside

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, landed in Washington DC yesterday and spent today touring US memorials. They visited the Lincoln and MLK Jr. memorials where they were joined by American civil rights leaders, Jesse Jackson and congressman John Lewis. They were also given a tour of Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home.

Prince Charles also spoke at an environmental conference where he called on governments and businesses to stop dumping plastics into the ocean, while the Duchess of Cornwall paid a visit to the Shakespeare Theater Company.

Tomorrow the royal couple will meet with President Obama at the White House.

Royal Family Attend Commonwealth Day Observance Service at Westminster Abbey

The BRF was out in full force this afternoon at Westminster Abbey to attend the Commonwealth Day Observance service. The Duchess of Cambridge was all smiles in front of the cameras with Prince Charles (see Daily Mail for photos).

For all those thinking that the Duchess of Cambridge wearing pink is a sign that Prince George can expect a little sister next month, remember that she wore the very same outfit at the Trooping the Colour ceremony back on June 15, 2013 – just about a month before the birth of Prince George.

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Slated to Go to Malta in November

According to the Times of Malta, Queen Elizabeth along with Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall will head to Malta in November for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). CHOGM will be held November 27-29. This will surely be a special visit for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip as this is the country that they called home early on in their marriage from 1949-1951.

One big happy family? Not so says Sebastian Shakespeare today in the Daily Mail….

“At the heart of the heir-to-the-throne’s frustrations is the so-called ‘Middletonisation’ of his son William’s life — specifically the inordinate amount of time he spends with his in-laws Michael and Carole, with whom he recently holidayed in Mustique for Carole’s 60th.

In fact, so vexed is Charles about the so-called ‘March of the Middletons’ that he has complained to friends: ‘They never let me see my grandson.’

Adds a source: ‘Carole has rather taken over, dictating when George naps, when and what he eats. All in all, behaving like she’s Queen Carole.’”
