Annual Pre-Christmas Lunch Held at Buckingham Palace Today

The Queen hosted her annual pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace today. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in attendance with conflicting reports as to whether or not Prince George joined the festivities. The most notable absence from the gathering was Prince Harry who is on his way back to the UK after his South Pole trek.

Just in time for Christmas, a baby doll created in the likeness of Prince George, son of William and Kate, is on sale from online retailer Ashton-Drake Galleries.

The “lifelike” 20-inch porcelain doll comes dressed gown nearly identical to the one worn by Price George at his recent christening and a pillow with is name and birth date.

The $150 doll is “handcrafted in fine bisque porcelain,” according to the web site. The arms and legs are poseable. “Each realistic detail of this gorgeous royal Prince royal  baby doll is exquisitely hand-painted to perfectly highlight his delicate features,” the description reads.

Shipping is an extra $16.99.

After being informed of the former South African leader’s death, Prince William made a brief statement as the Daily Mail reports below:

“William and Kate looked ashen-faced as they walked down the stairs into the foyer. Speaking as he left the Odeon cinema, the Duke said: ‘I just wanted to say it’s extremely sad and tragic news. We were just reminded what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. It’s very sad.’ ”

Prince William’s Turn to Show Off Some Volleyball Skills!

Prince William participated in a volleyball game at the Westway Sports Centre in north Kensington today while visiting young aspiring coaches.

The second in line to the throne looked a little out of place with one 13-year-old saying that he “felt sorry” for the Prince because he was unable to return balls. His wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, appeared more at ease with her volleyball skills even though she was wearing tall wedges!
