The Duchess of Cambridge landed atop Vanity Fair’s 2013 International Best-Dressed List for the fourth year in a row, sharing honors with Scandal‘s Kerry Washington. “The Kate Effect” remains in full swing as proven by this honor and the fact that anything she wears continues to sell out in 24 hours (or less!). The Duchess’ top labels are Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Issa, Jenny Packham, and Alice Temperley.

A year ago today, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge attended the London 2012 Summer Olympics to support Zara Phillips and the rest of the British equestrian team in their bid for a team medal. Team Great Britain won the silver medal at the end of a grueling three-day competition.
Cressida Bonas, daughter of Lady Mary-Gaye Curzon and Jeffrey Bonas, is the most recent female linked to Prince Harry. Introduced by the Prince’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, Bonas was first romantically linked to Prince Harry back in 2012, months after he broke up with his longterm girlfriend, Chelsy Davy. Princess Eugenie is not her only royal link – Bonas is also the half-sister of Prince William’s former love interest, Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe (who is now married to Richard Branson’s son, Sam).
While Bonas and Prince Harry have never been photographed together, they tend to go to the same spots at the same times and have even vacationed together. According to this New York Magazine article, things between the two began to fizzle last year after Prince Harry’s wild nights in Vegas; however, the couple seems to be back on, having recently been spotted partying together at Glastonbury in June.
About a week before the Duchess of Cambridge was due to give birth, Buckingham Palace announced that Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall were expecting their first child! Phillips, the 14th in line to throne, is a competitive equestrian and will take a leave from her sporting career for the remainder of her pregnancy. Phillips and Tindall were married in July 2011 in Edinburgh.
The child will be the third grandchild for Princess Anne; Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn Kelly, have two children- Savannah (b. 2010) and Isla (b. 2012). The child will be the Queen’s fourth great-grandchild.
The latest comment from the royal family regarding its newest addition came this evening from Prince Harry. Attending a private viewing of a Sentebale photography exhibit, Prince Harry fielded the expected questions but was also asked his mission as an uncle to which he replied:
“To make sure he has a good upbringing, to keep him out of harm’s way, and make sure he has fun. The rest of it I leave to the parents.”
Was there any doubt that Prince Harry would be the one to bring some fun to Prince George’s life?

The media frenzy continued today when the name of the new member of the royal family was announced – Prince George Alexander Louis. As NPR notes in this article, the naming was announced quickly when compared to others; Prince Charles’ name wasn’t known for approximately a month and it took Princess Diana and Prince Charles one week to announce Prince William’s name. There are rumors from various outlets that the delay in naming Prince William was because Princess Diana and Prince Charles were at odds regarding a name for their first born; she wanted William and he wanted Arthur (which was to become Prince William’s second name).
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted out with their son this afternoon, presumably heading to her parents’ house in Bucklebury, Berkshire (MailOnline).
