The wait is over, Mike Tindall announced over Twitter yesterday that they have named their new daughter Mia Grace Tindall.
The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall gave birth to a baby girl early this morning at the NHS Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The family of three went home just hours after the birth with Mike Tindall tweeting, “Thanks so much for all your kind messages. Definitely the best day of my life today, so happy! The girls are both doing great!”
The new arrival is the third grandchild for Princess Anne and the Queen and Prince Philip’s fourth grandchild– right on the heels of Prince George!
Zara does not hold a title and is not referred to as Her Royal Highness. Her daughter will be known as Miss Tindall and is now 16th in line to the throne.
Since the couple decided to keep their child’s sex a surprise, it will likely take them a little longer to announce a name. Stay tuned!
The Sunday Express revealed today that Zara Phillips is due to give birth on January 14th at NHS Gloucester Royal Hospital close to her mother Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate where she and husband Mike Tindall live. Their baby will be 16th in line to the throne but like Zara and her brother Peter, he or she will have no royal title.

About a week before the Duchess of Cambridge was due to give birth, Buckingham Palace announced that Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall were expecting their first child! Phillips, the 14th in line to throne, is a competitive equestrian and will take a leave from her sporting career for the remainder of her pregnancy. Phillips and Tindall were married in July 2011 in Edinburgh.
The child will be the third grandchild for Princess Anne; Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn Kelly, have two children- Savannah (b. 2010) and Isla (b. 2012). The child will be the Queen’s fourth great-grandchild.
